Step inside the Aulin family home in Råå. Camilla – a fashion enthusiast with an exciting hair journey – and Karl, Creative Director and co-founder of Mirrorflex, live here with their two wonderful children in a vibrant home filled with carefully selected pieces. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit down and stay.
Camilla, tell us about yourself and your family
Our family consists of my children, Mini, who is almost 9 years old, Arne, 7, my partner Karl, and me. We live in Råå, a historic fishing village south of Helsingborg.
Karl and I met nearly 15 years ago. Back then, we lived in Stockholm for several years, but when we had children, we decided to return to Skåne.

What do you appreciate most in life?
I love spending time with friends and family and find inspiration in art and fashion. I’m an emotional person who enjoys the moment, even though I tend to get restless and constantly seek new experiences and impressions.

What do you do for a living?
I work at IKEA, leading global advertising campaigns for all of IKEA’s markets (62 countries). It’s quite a strategic role, so to channel my creativity, I also run a vintage shop called SS_AW_Vintage.
I’ve always dreamed of working in fashion. My father had a great passion for it, and as a child, he and I would often go to Copenhagen to find those special pieces.
After high school, I first moved to Gothenburg and then to Stockholm, where I worked with styling, buying, and advertising for various brands, including NK, Agent Bauer, and later H&M on their global campaigns.
When I was on my second parental leave, I felt the need to do something creative. That summer, I gathered all my clothes and started selling them from a table in our garden. The interest grew, and soon people started bringing in clothes for me to sell. Since then, I’ve organized pop-ups from time to time, whenever life allows, always with the guiding principle that it should be fun and cozy.
Last autumn, a space became available here in Råå that I just couldn’t turn down. So now, suddenly, it’s a vintage boutique with a strong trend focus and an international vibe, where I bring in pieces I personally want to wear. On Saturdays, I’m in the shop, meeting customers and styling different outfits.
My long-term vision for SS_AW_Vintage is to create a lifestyle concept – everything you see, you can buy, including the interior design. We’ve also started collaborating with creatives in the region, but I’m letting it grow organically. IKEA and SS_AW_Vintage feel like a great combination!

What does your hair mean to you? Tell us about your hair journey.
I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy – I hated pink, glitter, and dresses and preferred wearing my older brother’s clothes. As a child, I had thick, short, straight hair. I think I had a buzz cut until second grade. I was very sporty, playing tennis and football so short hair was practical.
Just like with clothes, I’ve always had my own style when it comes to hairstyles. For a long time, I cut my own hair, drawing inspiration from different trends. As I got older, I dreamed of long, curly hair. I even used pipe cleaners to try and get some curls and a perfectly tousled look.
When I lived in Gothenburg, I worked as a hair model. Patrik, who now co-runs Lernberger & Stafsing with Mattias, worked at Redken back then, and they needed hair models. The hairstylists got free rein – I still remember a copper-red bob in the early 2000s!
Nowadays, I get my hair cut by my friend Maria (who’s now at HOMA Hair in Hovås), and she’s experimented with my hair over the years.

When does your hair feel its best?
All these experiments have taken a toll on my hair. Today, I need to take better care of it. I’ve struggled to find the right products. At one point, I tried going fully organic and natural, but the results were nothing like I had hoped – my hair turned into a tangled mess.
That experience made me a bit wary of products labeled as "natural" and organic, but I kept searching and am so happy I found Rufs. Your products are perfect for me. The leave-in conditioner isn’t sticky but still absorbs into my hair and adds shine. I use it every day!

Tell us about your children’s hair and your routines
Arne has short hair and only uses shampoo. Even though his hair is easy to manage, Rufs makes it much softer and helps with his dry scalp.
Mini has Scandinavian curly hair – fine but thick. She’s very tender-headed but loves having long hair, so we’ve had plenty of struggles when it comes to detangling.
Mini uses the spray and leave-in almost daily. We brush her hair in the shower and try to braid it at night to prevent tangles
When asked what she loves and finds challenging about her hair, Mini said: "That it’s big and beautiful, but dealing with all the tangles is tough." The detangling spray is her favorite product.

Two final questions:
What upsets you, and what would you like to change?
The way we live and the impact we have on our planet. Fast fashion makes me angry – I want to help normalize reuse and make it the standard. I also care deeply about children in vulnerable situations and social injustices.
What are you curious about?
What life has to offer. I get butterflies thinking about it. The kids are growing up, and now we can spend time together in new ways. I dream of creating a destination where people can gather over food, browse shops and galleries, and find inspiration.
